EnglishFranglaisKwe, Bonjour, Hello!
背景
I've worked in mental health support for five years in Health Promotion at the University of Ottawa, as an intern counsellor at the University of New Brunswick, and as a counsellor for a not-for-profit community agency in Fredericton. I also have a background in environmental science and wetland ecology. That scientific background actually shapes how I approach therapy: it trained me to find patterns and focus on the big picture, even when we are knee-deep in the muck of life. When I’m not in the office, you can find me in nature, singing with chickadees, running (not very far or very fast), or practicing yoga. I also love reading fiction and folklore, gardening, and playing music.
与我经历治疗的体验
Generally, therapy with me can go something like this: People come to therapy feeling low or anxious, responsible for too much, ignoring their needs, disconnected, stuck and unsure how to change Working together, people begin to understand their patterns and story, how their environment influences them, recognize emotional blocks, and see how wounding experiences may have shaped their behaviours. With a deeper understanding, people begin to treat themselves with kindness, accept and express themselves and their needs, and reduce shame. People feel more comfortable practicing setting boundaries, meaningful communication, pursuing sustainable habits and goals, and trusting themselves.
