Hi! I'm Laura! I work with the high-functioning anxious or depressed overthinkers who appear “fine” on the outside but feel untethered, overwhelmed, stuck, or burnt out inside. They’ve spent years putting others first, struggling to slow down and connect with their values and body, sometimes feeling trapped in a cycle of unresolved feelings, attachment patterns, and looming anxiety. Navigating big emotions, life transitions, or past trauma, they seek warm, genuine, and relatable support.
背景
I have worked with individuals navigating trauma, mood disorders, and family or relationship challenges. My professional background spans hospitals, supportive housing, treatment centres, and community-based settings, where I’ve supported clients through grief, loss, substance use, and life transitions. My approach is collaborative, approachable, and sometimes lighthearted, while grounded in evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Above all, I aim to create a safe, supportive space where clients can explore their experiences, build coping skills, and move toward meaningful change without judgement.
与我经历治疗的体验
Sitting with me, you can expect a space that feels safe, supportive, and free of judgment. I take a collaborative approach, walking alongside you as we explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences at a pace that feels right for you. My style is definitely approachable, organic, and down-to-earth. I bring curiosity, compassion, and even humour when it helps lighten the load. My goal is for you to leave each session feeling heard, understood, less awkward, and a little more equipped to move forward.

治疗手法
这些是我主要的治疗手法,均接受过专业训练或有丰富临床经验:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT is an evidence-based approach that focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It’s especially effective for anxiety, OCD, eating struggles, panic, rumination, and mood-related concerns. Together, we identify unhelpful thinking patterns.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy
DBT is an evidence-based approach that helps individuals manage overwhelming emotions, reduce impulsive behaviours, and strengthen relationships. It combines acceptance and change, offering practical skills in mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Trauma-informed Therapy
This approach recognizes the widespread impact of trauma and prioritizes emotional and psychological safety in the healing process. Rather than asking “What’s wrong with you?”, it focuses on “What happened to you?”- emphasizing trust, collaboration, and empowerment.

Motivational Interviewing
MI is a collaborative, goal-focused therapy that helps individuals explore and resolve ambivalence about change. Through guided self-exploration, clients identify their values, strengths, and goals, while addressing barriers to progress. MI creates a supportive, non-judgmental space.
