Choosing a therapist is deeply personal — you want someone who not only has the training but gets you on a human level. As a millennial myself, I understand the unique challenges we face: digital overwhelm, burnout, identity exploration, parenting pressures, and the hunger for real connection.
Here are 10 things about me that make therapy with me feel relatable, authentic, and healing — just for you.
1. Therapy is Personal
I’ve done my own EMDR trauma therapy to heal childhood wounds. That lived experience means I don’t just talk theory — I know what it feels like to do the inner work. When you come to therapy with me, you’re meeting someone who understands the process deeply, not just professionally.
2. Nature Grounds Me
Many of us millennials are overwhelmed by constant screen time and the pressure to “do it all.” Nature is my reset button — a way to slow down and breathe. I bring that calm, grounded energy into sessions to help you reconnect with yourself beyond the noise.
3. I’m a Parent
If you’re navigating parenting, family dynamics, or even your own inner child work, I get it. Parenthood has taught me patience, compassion, and how messy emotions can be. I’m here to hold space for all of that without judgment.
4. Mind-Body Connection
Millennials are more open to holistic healing — yoga, mindfulness, somatic therapy — and so am I. I incorporate movement and breathwork into therapy because healing isn’t just mental; it’s embodied. Together, we’ll work with your body’s wisdom to feel safer and more whole.
5. Lifelong Learner
I’m committed to ongoing education — from EMDR and polyvagal theory to DBT and ACT — so my approach is always current and effective. Millennials value growth and want to know their therapist is evolving, too.
6. I Swear (a Lot) in Session
Sometimes, there’s no better way to express what’s really going on than with a well-placed swear word. It helps break tension and makes our work feel real — the way you actually talk to yourself or your friends.
7. I Don’t Pretend to Have It All Together
I show up as my full self: therapist, human, and parent. I don’t expect perfection from you — and you won’t get it from me either. We’re in this messy, beautiful journey together.
8. I Use Humor
Humor is a powerful tool for processing difficult emotions. Sometimes, a perfectly timed meme says what words can’t and helps lighten the heaviness. I’m definitely not above sharing a meme between sessions if it brings a smile or makes you feel seen. Therapy doesn’t always have to be serious to be meaningful — laughter can be healing too.
9. I Believe in Rest Over Hustle
Burnout is real — and millennial culture pushes us to keep going even when we’re exhausted. I’ll never tell you to “push through.” Instead, I’ll help you slow down, listen to your body, and practice kindness toward yourself.
10. I Value Depth and Realness
This isn’t surface-level therapy. I’m here to hold space for your pain, your beauty, your contradictions — and help you find meaning and healing in it all. Real growth happens in the messy middle, and that’s where we’ll work.
