EnglishBackground
Hi there! My name is Shiny, I'm an occupational therapist dedicated towards promoting mental wellbeing and daily functioning through a client-centered and strength-based approach. I have areas of focus in supporting clients with chronic illnesses, disabilities and neurodivergent clients. I'm passionate about helping people develop holistic strategies to support their daily functioning and improve their quality of life.
Your therapeutic experience with me
My practice is influenced by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy psychotherapeutic modalities. I like to focus on practical and realistic strategies to support wellbeing. I offer virtual services and in-person services in London, Ontario.
Areas of expertise
These are the areas I commonly work with, and they form a big part of the support I offer in my practice:
I also support you in these additional areas and welcome you to reach out if any of them speak to what you are going through:
Therapeutic approaches
These are the approaches at the heart of my work, and I use them often because they help create meaningful change:

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT is an approach that helps to develop psychological flexibility, allowing a more peaceful and less judgmental relationship with our thoughts and feelings. A key aspect of ACT is engaging in committed action that aligns with your personal values - in other words, "do what matters to you"!

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT focuses on the three aspects of thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. CBT can be really helpful for reframing unhelpful thoughts that are getting in the way of the things that you want to do.
Focused populations and cultural backgrounds
These are the communities and cultural backgrounds I focus on, and I bring a sincere commitment to supporting you in a way that feels respectful and genuine:
